Alexandra Kasputis, LMHC, NCC

Alexandra (Alex) Kasputis, LMHC, NCC joins the team as a Clinical Supervisor, and we couldn’t be happier she is here! Alex is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of NY, and a provider of LGBTQIA+ affirming care. She is trained in EMDR and certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), both of which are evidence-based treatments for individuals who have experienced trauma.

 

In addition, Alex received training by the Albert Ellis Institute in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT); this approach assists individuals in managing their unhelpful beliefs and difficult emotions in a healthier way. Alex is also in the process of receiving her certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS).

 

Alex has extensive experience working with those who struggle with eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and trauma. Alex has worked with clients in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient. 

 

Alex believes in building a foundation of self-compassion with clients, encouraging them to talk, treat, and approach themselves as they would a loved one. Her unique approach is person-centered and eclectic, utilizing warmth, curiosity, humor, and a nonjudgmental stance. Alex’s goal is to help clients reconnect with themselves, discontinue self-sabotaging behavior, and live the life they want.

 

Alex's supervision style is one characterized by collaboration. She enjoys guiding burgeoning clinicians in their journey of self-discovery, as well as helping them to build out their knowledge of necessary therapeutic approaches and skills. Alex considers herself a perpetual learner and looks forward to getting to know what makes each of her supervisees unique.

 

Alex’s diverse clinical experience, expansive knowledge base, and dedication to excellence as evidenced by her highly respected certifications, along with her warm, sincere, and approachable demeanor contribute to her being a valued member of our team and an asset to the growth and learning experience of the clinicians she supervises.
