Frequently Asked Questions

Who would benefit from therapy at Dr. Fallon’s Practice?

Therapy at Dr. Fallon's Practice is for adults (21 - 65 years old) living in New York State who have enough self-awareness to realize they would benefit from professional help or support, and that is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you are and making a commitment to grow and change by seeking therapy. Your work with one of our therapists can provide long-lasting benefits, helping you to cultivate the tools you need to change unhealthy behavior patterns, re-frame critical self-talk, identify barriers to goal achievement, as well as increase self-confidence, self-assurance, and resilience.

If I am in crisis, such as having suicidal thoughts or concerns about hurting myself or others, is Dr. Fallon’s Practice an appropriate level of care for my needs?

No, we are not, but there are many places you can turn to with people who can provide you with the support you need!  If you are having an emergency or need immediate mental health care, please call 988 (The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. There are people who will be there to help you. You do not need to navigate this alone. Give others the chance to support you.

Does Dr. Fallon’s Practice treat all mental health concerns?

No, Dr. Fallon's Practice is not able to treat all mental health concerns. We are a telehealth outpatient private practice so there are some diagnoses and mental health concerns that are out of our scope of practice, such as but not limited to: dissociative disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and autism (as a primary diagnosis). If you have previously learned that you would benefit from support for one of these diagnoses then we are not the correct team of providers for you. You can reach out to the NAMI HelpLine, at 800-950-NAMI (6264), Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. — 10 p.m., ET, or send an email to info@nami.org to receive support and referrals.
