Alissa Vitale, MA, LMHC, NCC (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and South Carolina who is currently awaiting receipt of her NYS Diagnostic Privilege License. She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Hofstra University. With a strong clinical foundation and experience across residential, PHP/IOP, and outpatient settings, Alissa specializes in treating eating disorders, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, and personality disorders.
Alissa brings warmth, intention, and deep respect to the therapeutic process. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families work toward meaningful goals, reconnect with their values, and understand the patterns- both helpful and harmful- that shape their lives. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, in which she is certified. She is also currently pursuing certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS).
In addition to her clinical work, Alissa is a dedicated clinical supervisor who values collaboration, curiosity, and professional growth. She strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clinicians can build skills, deepen self-awareness, and develop a strong sense of professional identity. Alissa also believes in the importance of sustainable practice- helping clinicians find balance and show up as their most authentic, grounded selves, both in and out of the therapy room.
