(She/Her/Hers)
Amanda Moore, M.S.Ed., LMHC, NCC has joined the senior clinical team at Dr. Fallon’s Practice, and we are absolutely thrilled to have her on board! Amanda is an accomplished Nationally Board Certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor with previous inpatient and outpatient experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, then furthering her education by receiving her Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St John’s University.
Amanda specializes in working with adults with acute and persistent mental illness. Some of these diagnoses include depression, mood disorders, PTSD, psychosis, substance abuse disorders, personality disorders, as well as other DSM-5 diagnoses; with a passion for LGBTQIA+ related issues and gender affirming care.
Amanda often utilizes a unique and holistic approach with clients, due to believing it is not always a “one size fits all.” During sessions, she typically applies an eclectic group of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT skills training, mindfulness, positive psychology, and trauma informed counseling with prior training in administering and recording the MMPI-2, Big Five Inventory, and CPI scales with prior history as a research assistant at both Alma Maters.
As a Clinical Supervisor, Amanda applies a professional yet collaborative approach that allows new clinicians to feel supported and guided as they navigate new challenges. Furthermore, she seeks to provide an open-ended discussion with appropriate feedback that allows each prospective clinician to reach their goals and self-actualization as future licensed counselors. With a passion for clinician gate keeping and self-care, she will aid new clinicians in finding their niche for boundary management and time for hobbies in their schedule. Overall, her non-judgmental attitude and open demeanor allows clients, and other clinicians feel comfortable with expressing needs in supervision/session.
