(He/Him/His)

We are thrilled to welcome Ben Grubin, MS, MHC-LP to our clinical team! Ben is a New York State Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit) who joins Dr. Fallon’s Practice with a wealth of diverse experience and a deep passion for helping his clients achieve their goals.

Ben creates a healing and empowering therapeutic relationship with each of his clients believing that the most essential part of therapy is for someone to feel completely safe and free to explore the concerns, challenges, issues, and life goals that are most important to them. The foundation of Ben’s approach is to provide an unconditionally accepting, warm, and supportive environment in which to do just that.

Building on this foundation, Ben has a deep appreciation for offering evidence-based therapeutic tools and perspectives in a targeted strategy to meet the specific needs of each client. Ben’s technical background and therapeutic tool kit is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based perspectives. Ben enjoys customizing these therapeutic principles to the nuances to each of his client's life situations.

Ben began his journey towards working in the mental health field after his career as the lead singer-songwriter signed to a major label in an international touring indie rock band. Ben’s experience in that high-pressure music entertainment environment taught him the importance of prioritizing mental wellness. Ben developed a passion for learning about human behavior and helping others work through their own challenges. After receiving his life coach credentials from CTI and his master's degree in mental health counseling from Pace University, Ben has been able to express this passion with every individual he is fortunate to work with.

Ben relates to his clients with empathy and understanding as he knows these are the keys to fostering insight and self-compassion. Ben also leverages a strength-based approach to increase self-awareness of the priorities and values most important to his clients; at times within the therapeutic relationship, Ben will use these resources to enhance self-confidence and open doors to new possibilities. Ben experiences a deep joy in facilitating positive self-growth and in being an unwavering source of support for his clients as they seek to achieve their goals.

Ben is passionate about helping clients work through shame, low self-esteem, grief, dating, and relationship issues. Ben has also helped clients better manage and reduce their anxiety. He enjoys helping people excel in their career, entrepreneurial, and artistic ambitions. Ben also loves to work with issues around spirituality.
