(She/Her/Hers)

Casey Olejar, MA, MHC-LP is a trauma-informed Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit) dedicated to providing empathetic, evidence-based care in New York City. She holds a Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, as well as two Advanced Certificates Post Baccalaureate in Victimology and Criminal Investigation. Casey fosters an unconditionally supportive environment for all racial, religious, gender, and sexual identities to explore their human experience. Casey is experienced supporting clients with a variety of mental health and wellness concerns in both private practice and forensic settings.

Prior to focusing on her Mental Health Counseling career, Casey pursued a love for movement as a professional modern dancer in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her journey continued as she completed her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200-Hour Certification with Yoga Alliance and honed in on therapeutic mindfulness. Her personal experiences piqued her interest in how people choose to move throughout the world, how positive coping strategies can unlock higher functioning, and the importance of a healthy mind.

Casey combines her artistic and movement-based background to the therapeutic experience through modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Positive Psychology, and Person-centered therapy. She is interested in addressing ways of behaving, thinking, and responding emotionally that are incompatible with the life her clients want to lead and help them collaboratively make those changes.
