Marissa Delvalle, LMHC, CASAC-T, NCC, brings with her an impressively wide scope of professional experience in the fields of mental and behavioral health along with an undeniable warm, motivating, and enthusiastic demeanor which deeply benefit clients and team members. We couldn’t be more excited that Marissa, National Board-Certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor has joined our team in the roles of clinical supervisor and therapist!

 

Marissa’s dedication to professional excellence in the field of mental health is evidenced by the prestigious recognition of her invitation to join the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, recognizing her scholastic achievements and her character, while pursuing her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Long Island University. Marissa’s decision to go above and beyond her New York State License to achieve National Board Certification is further evidence of her standard of excellence.

 

Marissa’s passions as a therapist in private practice include working with clients who suffer from chronic Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, LGBTQI+ related issues, Trauma & PTSD. As a woman of color, Marissa strives to be a catalyst of change in the BIPOC community by fostering a safe, nurturing, and comforting environment for patients to discuss challenges associated with various ethnic/racial backgrounds.

 

Marissa’s patient-centered approach along with use of various interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Psychoeducation, and other supportive therapy techniques help her clients to discover and form breakthroughs as they take steps towards attaining a resilient and healthier version of themselves. 

 

As a Clinical Supervisor Marissa applies similar techniques to support new-to-the-field clinicians such as strengthening the use of their problem-solving skills to assist them in navigating cases they find challenging. Marissa seeks to give back to the field of mental health through her role as a clinical supervisor by providing others with the knowledge she has gained through her own richly diverse experiences as a clinician. Marissa’s welcoming and warm nature as well as her ability to be an active listener make her both a strong supervisor and an exceptional clinician.
