We couldn’t be any happier to welcome Najwa Hafiz, MA, MHC-LP to our clinical team! Najwa is a compassionate Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit) with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (clinical track) from Effat University in Saudi Arabia.

Najwa is dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. She believes that therapy serves as a sacred space where clients can shed expectations of who they should be and reconnect with their authentic selves. By creating a nonjudgmental and welcoming environment, Najwa empowers her clients to delve into the depths of their being.

Understanding the profound impact of relationships and meaning-making processes on human fulfillment, Najwa emphasizes the importance of gaining insight into relational patterns and worldview. Through this exploration, people can enrich their understanding of themselves and cultivate inner peace and acceptance.

Utilizing a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, Najwa facilitates a therapeutic environment where clients can explore their realities with compassion and understanding. She recognizes that behaviors and emotional responses may stem from adaptive mechanisms to past traumas and aims to honor these experiences rather than stigmatize them. It takes bravery to make space in understanding oneself and Najwa’s therapeutic approach makes it a point to honor that.

Najwa's therapeutic style values self-exploration and individual strengths while also considering the broader societal and cultural contexts in which clients exist. As an Arab woman, she is particularly passionate about supporting individuals navigating their cultural identity as she acknowledges the complexity and sensitivity this exploration takes. Fluent in both Arabic and English, Najwa brings a unique perspective to her practice, ensuring inclusivity and understanding. She is also keen on working with people who are going through relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, and experiences of childhood or adult abuse, grief, self-esteem, and substance abuse. Najwa is committed to providing a safe and supportive space for clients to heal and thrive.

In her therapeutic practice, Najwa guides individuals collaboratively in uncovering their strengths and what is no longer serving them. Najwa's aim is to gently nurture personal development within a warm and genuine environment. She prioritizes trust, honesty, and authenticity, fostering a space where clients feel safe to explore and evolve.
