Alyssa Vero, MA, MHC-LP, is a New York State Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit) who completed her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Hofstra University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Disability Studies from Stony Brook University. Guided by a strong academic and clinical foundation, Alyssa engages with clients through a lens of compassion, warmth, and a deep understanding of the human experience.
Alyssa is a dedicated Mental Health Counselor who creates a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered. Grounded in a person-centered approach, Alyssa integrates a variety of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to offer an individualized experience for each of her clients. Alyssa’s goal is to foster a healthy and trustworthy therapeutic relationship that allows clients to explore their thoughts and emotions openly while building resilience and self-awareness.
With experience in both community mental health and private practice settings, Alyssa has supported individuals facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Her background has shaped a compassionate, client-centered approach grounded in respect, empathy, and collaboration. Whether clients are working through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or life transitions, she is committed to helping them gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Alyssa views therapy as both a challenge and a comfort—an experience that invites growth while offering genuine support. She believes it should be a place where clients feel seen, heard, and uplifted. By helping individuals make sense of their journey and equipping them with tools to move forward with clarity and confidence, Alyssa fosters meaningful, lasting change grounded in self-awareness, resilience, and hope.
