Kira Imowitz, MA, MHC-LP is a New York State Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit). She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University. Grounded in a strong academic foundation and a clinically informed perspective, Kira brings warmth, empathy, and a collaborative approach to her work. She strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and respected.
Kira is committed to fostering an inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment for individuals of all racial, cultural, religious, gender, and sexual identities. She is a culturally responsive, trauma-informed clinician with clinical experience in both college counseling and private practice settings.
Kira has training in evidence-based and multicultural approaches and works with clients navigating life transitions, anxiety, identity development, relationship concerns, and trauma recovery. She believes therapy is a collaborative process and works alongside clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and support meaningful, lasting change.

Kira understands that starting therapy can sometimes feel intimidating, uncomfortable, or even scary. She works to meet clients with warmth, patience, and compassion, recognizing the courage it takes to begin the process.
She believes meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic connection and prioritizes building trust and rapport to create a space where clients feel safe to be open, authentic, and vulnerable. Kira approaches therapy collaboratively and tailors her work to each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace.
