Nupur Vaghasia, Ed.M., MA, MHC-LP is a New York State Mental Health Counselor (Limited Permit) with a dual master’s in counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Lawrence University.
She has experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse, as well as young adults and adults navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, and family challenges. With a strong connection to South Asian communities, she brings a thoughtful understanding of identity, cultural expectations, and family dynamics.
Nupur is committed to creating a space where clients can slow down, feel supported, and show up for themselves, especially if they have spent much of their lives showing up for others.

What should a new client know about working with you?
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling outwardly “high-functioning” or put together, while internally carrying self-doubt, guilt, or confusion about their needs and desires. You may be used to holding things together for others, even when something inside feels unsettled or unseen.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you or pushing quick answers. It’s about slowing down and making space to understand your emotional world, honor the ways you’ve learned to cope, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been minimized or overlooked. Our work is gentle, collaborative, and paced with care. You don’t have to explain or justify yourself here.
I’ll meet you with curiosity, care, and respect, and together we’ll begin noticing patterns in your emotions and relationships so you can better understand what you need and learn to trust your own inner voice.
