What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a Chinese-American adoptee originally from the Bay Area in California, now based on the East Coast. I bring both personal and professional awareness to questions of identity, culture, and belonging, and I am especially committed to culturally responsive care.
In my clinical work, I take a client-centered and humanistic approach, with an emphasis on creating a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space. I approach each client with cultural humility, meaning I remain open, curious, and aware that each person is the expert on their own lived experience.
I strive to meet clients where they are and to support them in exploring their experiences in a way that feels grounded, respectful, and empowering.
Process for Working With Clients
I begin by building a strong therapeutic relationship and understanding the client’s goals and concerns. Early sessions focus on collaboratively identifying treatment priorities. I draw from client-centered, CBT, ACT, and multicultural frameworks to tailor interventions to each client’s needs and cultural context. I regularly review progress and adjust treatment as needed, emphasizing collaboration, insight, and practical skill-building.
